🌟 Instructor Spotlight - Meet Kelsey Lawson: Strength, Squats, and the Power of the Village

If you’ve ever heard someone confidently call out “one inch lower — I know we can do it,” chances are you were in a class led by Kelsey Lawson.

Kelsey has been an instructor with FIT4MOM The Woodlands for more than four and a half years, teaching Stroller Strides, Strides 360, and Body Boost / Body Well. Her coaching style is equal parts fire and heart — empowering moms to push past what they think they can do while reminding them they are already doing an incredible job.

With her alter-ego name being The Squatfather (Or should we say Squatmother), Kelsey has a deep love for strength training (especially squats… and yes, burpees too). But beneath the burn and the sweat is something even more powerful: belief. Kelsey doesn’t just teach movements — she believes in the women doing them.

Body Boost, in particular, changed everything for her. What started as an early-morning workout quickly became a transformation, reshaping her confidence and her understanding of her own strength — both physical and mental. Teaching that same class now allows her to help other moms experience that shift for themselves, often before the rest of the day even begins.

Kelsey’s connection to FIT4MOM runs deep. She first came hoping to make a friend — maybe her kids would too — and instead found a village. A community that showed up for her in real life, celebrated her children, and reminded her that motherhood was never meant to be done alone.

One of her most cherished village memories is watching her daughter, Lucy, “graduate” from Stroller Strides before starting kindergarten. Lucy’s very first class was when she was just eight weeks old, and seeing that full-circle moment reminded Kelsey how deeply this community impacts families — not just moms, but their children too.

Motherhood has taught Kelsey that she doesn’t have to do it all alone — and shouldn’t. Asking for help, leaning on others, and taking time to care for herself doesn’t make her weaker; it makes her a better mom. She wishes every mom knew just how deeply she is seen and how much she matters, even on the days she feels unsure or invisible.

Outside of class, Kelsey finds peace in the simple things — a glass of red wine, a good book, and the satisfaction of having everything packed and ready the night before (she’s famous for organizing outfits by day… pajamas included 😄).

When asked what makes FIT4MOM special, Kelsey says it best: it’s more than a workout because it reminds us we’re not doing motherhood alone.

We’re so grateful Kelsey brings her strength, heart, and belief into our village — and if you take her class, don’t be surprised if you leave a little sweatier, a little stronger, and a whole lot more confident than when you arrived 💗💪

Work out with Kelsey!
