December 2023 Mom of the Month: Emma Dyer

Introduce yourself!

I’m Emma Dyer, mom to Dean and wife to Trevor! I’m currently pregnant with baby #2, a little girl, and due in February!

Introduce your kiddo/s!

We currently have 1 little boy, Dean. He’ll be 2 on December 29th and is the absolute joy of my life!!! He makes everything more fun and joyful, especially this holiday season! He’s obsessed with Santa this year and loves driving around to look at everyone’s Christmas decorations!

Where were you born and where do you call home?

I was born and raised in the area and went to Klein High School! A local through and through :). We live in Tomball right on the cusp on the woodlands and love how close we are to all the best Woodlands parks and FIT4MOM workouts!

How long have you been Stroller Striding/FIT4MOMming and how did you find us?

I’ve been a FIT4MOM member since January of 2023 so coming up on a year. I found them through instagram when I was looking for a way to be more active without having to find childcare. I wanted community for myself and for Dean and FIT4MOM was the perfect solution!! We BOTH have made so many friends. All the other moms are in the same boat as you… so if you need to stop and give a snack, or tend to a crying baby, or you can’t give it your all that day because your exhausted from all the “moming”… everyone is so understanding, encouraging, and supportive! I have learned so much from the other moms in this group. YOU ALL ARE AMAZING!!

Share a favorite mom moment:

Honestly, it’s hard to pick just one cause there’s SO much I love about being a mom but the first time he said “I love you” (more like “ah yo yew”) unprompted comes to mind first! He was only 15 months old and I definitely wrote that down to remember it forever

Share a challenging mom moment you've had:

Oh boy, since we’re approaching 2 this has definitely been a more frequent occurrence. Sometimes just the most basic every day things are challenging. Just the other morning he only wanted mommy to hold him, and being nearly 7 months pregnant, trying to make breakfast, feed the dog, do all the things before needing to leave the house was mayhem. He finally lets me put him down by distracting him with helping me feed the dog. Well, he pours the whole cup of dog food on the floor, I’m trying to get him to help clean it up, he’s just kicking it around, I get the dust pan but then he’s mad cause he wants to play with it, I open the wrong side of the pepper shaker and pour pepper ALL over our eggs, the bagel is burning in the toaster. The most basic day but still challenging and I’m sure is VERY RELATABLE

Share a hidden talent!

Since I couldn’t think of anything, my husband said, I remember movie quotes and lyrics really well I mean he’s not wrong… I remember the most minute details from random movie scenes. Whether or not this is a talent is questionable however.

What did you do before kid/s?

Before having Dean I actually had a thriving charcuterie business! My intention was always to go back after maternity leave but I just couldn’t get myself to take the time away from him. He became the most important thing for me to be with and I didn’t want to give that up! However, I have also always worked for my family’s commercial construction business. My dad, brother, and sister all work together and I am lucky enough to be able to work part time from home now.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Oh boy… with a 7 year old??? I hope to see myself with a thriving, healthy family. I’d love to see 3 kids running around, my husband and I crushing it at parenting and marriage! Haha, it sounds so simple but truly all I need/want. Besides, I now know what it takes and it ain’t easy to achieve!

What keeps you coming back to FIT4MOM?

The community of fellow moms, 100%. The workouts are great and I love the encouragement to stay active but the relationships and friendships I’ve built, and that Dean has built, is what keeps us coming back!

Share 3 things you love to do other than FIT4MOMming :)

Let’s see… love to get a pedicure, grab breakfast on the weekend as a family, and get together with all my fellow mama girlfriends for a mom’s night out!

Anything else you'd like to share about yourself?

Just how grateful I am for this community and how honored I am to be consider this months “mom of the month”!
