Introduce yourself!
My name is Katie and I am a momma of 3. My husband, Jack, and I met in college and have been married for 8 years. I am a certified Child Life Specialist and used to work at Texas Children’s Hospital downtown. That commute was brutal so after my third kiddo, I am lucky to be a SAHM mom for now!
Introduce your kiddo/s:
My eldest daughter, Hayden, is 4 years old. Avery is almost 3 years old, and my son, Lucas is 8 months old. My daughters love stroller strides and often play it at home. Lucas is still learning to love the stroller time.
Where were you born and where do you call home?
I was born in Winfield, IL, a suburb outside of Chicago. I live in Spring TX.
How long have you been Stroller Striding/FIT4MOMming and how did you find us?
Two years! I first discovered it when I saw a group of moms working out at City Place one morning. I remember thinking, “I want ‘mom‘ friends. I should try that!”
Share a hidden talent!
I can make a 3-leaf clover with my tongue.
Share a favorite mom moment:
I sometimes bake with the kiddos, you know gotta use those old bananas. And one morning we were eating banana muffins and out of the blue my daughter Avery goes “this muffin is delicious because we made it together.” - Win!
Share a challenging mom moment you've had:
I’d say trying to meet three different needs at the same time. One moment I will never forget was shortly after Lucas was born: He was crying because he was newborn, then my middle child tripped and started crying. Then my eldest was having some big feelings about not being able to do something. So there I sat on the floor with three crying kids in my lap feeling very overwhelmed because I wasn’t really sure why anyone was really crying.
What did you do before kid/s?
Worked at TCH as a Child Life Specialist, happy hours during the week, slept in on weekends, traveled whenever we could, ect… just living the DINK life.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
My husband and I would love to live abroad, so hoping for that opportunity. Otherwise, I’m keeping my options opened on whether I will go back to work or not.
What keeps you coming back to FIT4MOM?
It started as a way to get us out of the house. And now, I love the opportunity to get a workout in while spending quality time with my kids outside, and having the chance to chat with other adults.
Share 3 things you love to do other than FIT4MOMming :)
1. Spending time with family 2. Yoga 3. Wine nights.
