🌸 Mom of the Month: Meet Aspen Colson! 🌸
We’re so excited to celebrate our October Mom of the Month, Aspen Colson! Aspen brings warmth, kindness, and a love for community to our FIT4MOM The Woodlands village. Let’s get to know her a little better!
Roots & Home
Aspen was born in Houston, Texas, but her story doesn’t stop there—she grew up in Aberdeen, Scotland, and even spent a year living in New Zealand as an au pair back in 2015. Today, she and her family call Magnolia, Texas, home.
Family First
Aspen is mom to sweet Aurora, who will be turning 2 this November. Since Aurora was just four months old, Aspen has been part of our Stroller Strides and FIT4MOM community. Watching her little one grow and thrive has been one of Aspen’s greatest joys: she loves seeing the look of pride on Aurora’s face when she learns something new, especially when it comes to books and educational activities.
Life Before Motherhood
Before stepping into the role of full-time mom, Aspen wore many hats! She served as the Paramedic Program Director at Lone Star College North Harris and also worked as a licensed realtor—roles that reflect both her expertise and her passion for helping others. (She’s still licensed in both!)
Mom Moments: Joys & Challenges
Motherhood is full of highs and lows, and Aspen embraces them both. One of her favorite moments is seeing Aurora’s excitement and pride when she discovers something new. On the flip side, Aspen recalls one of the most challenging times: when Aurora came down with hand, foot, and mouth. Despite her medical training, it was heartbreaking to see her little one in pain before they understood what was wrong.
Talents & Hobbies
Aspen is a whiz in the kitchen—cooking and baking are her hidden talents! Beyond that, she loves traveling, refinishing furniture, and decorating her home. Creativity clearly flows through everything she does.
Why FIT4MOM?
For Aspen, the answer is simple: community. The friendships she’s formed here keep her coming back week after week. In her words, the people she’s met through FIT4MOM have made a lasting impact on her motherhood journey.
Looking Ahead
In five years, Aspen sees herself continuing to be a stay-at-home mom, possibly adding some part-time work to the mix. No matter what the future holds, it’s clear that family and community will remain at the center of her story.
We are so grateful to have Aspen as part of our FIT4MOM The Woodlands family. Her warmth, resilience, and love for learning alongside her daughter inspire us all. 💕
